CEEMET Elects FME’S President Ms. Ineke Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink as its New President

In its 22nd General Assembly organised in Helsinki, CEEMET elected Ms. Ineke Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink, President of Dutch member organisation FME as its new President. Her term will last until end 2016.
Ms. Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink was appointed as CEEMET President to follow Mr. Sakari Tamminen of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries. Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink became President of FME, CEEMET’s Dutch member in November 2011. She holds various elected positions such as the Chair of the Supervisory Board of Zeeland Seaports N.V. and is a member of the Supervisory Board of Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam.
 
Before her current positions, Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink served as a Member of the Parliament in 2003-2011 representing the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie – VVD).
 
Discussing what the European manufacturing industry needs, she said: "Competitiveness has to be ensured. Economic growth and welbeing of our companies is the best social security."
 
"The industry has to face the changes that already started in 2007, the business environment has never returned to the pre-2007 times. It is estimated that 40% of the current jobs will disappear and same amount of completely new jobs will be created. We have to be ready to educate our youth for jobs that don’t exist yet, this will be a challenge."
