A new strike threat concerning some member companies in IT Service Sector


The Association of IT sector employees (Tietoala) and the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN) have announced on 31 October a new strike threat concerning the following member companies in IT Service Sector: Tieto, Oracle, Fujitsu, Capgemini, IBM, Logica, Accenture, Aditro and Cybercom Plenware (2 days each). The industrial action is planned to take place between 15th and 18th of November 2011. More information has been sent to the companies in question via email.

The strike threat is an extension to the strike threat announced on 21 October concerning the following member companies in IT Service Sector: Tieto, Logica, Fujitsu, atBusiness, IBM, Aditro, Solteq and Capgemini (2 days each). The first set of strikes would take place between 7th and 13th of November 2011.

There should be no strikes in other IT Service Sector companies than in those mentioned above. If there is industrial action in other companies, The Federation of Finnish Technology Industries should be informed immediately.

The Association of IT sector employees (Tietoala) and the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN) have also announced a ban on overtime and work related travelling during free time concerning all companies in IT Service Sector. The Federation of Finnish Technology Industries wishes to remind the employers that employees are free to carry out overtime and travel as usual. Members of the trade unions are free to participate in the collective action or to opt out of such action. The employer must not put pressure on individual employees. More information about the overtime and travelling ban has been sent to the members in Finnish on 19 October.
