Analysis of China’s ICT and Electronics markets
At the request of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries, Finpro has carried out an analysis of changes in the operating environment of China’s ITC and electronics sectors and their impact on Finnish enterprises operating in these fields.
The Chinese economy is going through a transformation. Its GNP is growing at a rate of over 8 % despite a collapse in imports and exports of over 20 % in the first half of 2009. This paradox can be explained by the strong growth of China’s internal market. China is also taking decisive steps away from being a country of cheap mass production towards becoming an engine of high technology.
Enterprises operating in China, or those seeking to establish themselves there, need to examine carefully their strategy, now that the subcontractor of the world is rapidly becoming the boss. At the request of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries, Finpro has analysed changes in the Chinese economy, public policy, and the transformation of enterprises’ operating environment. ITC and technology companies are in the eye of the storm in respect to these changes because in its new five-year-plan China is strongly investing in information technology and Chinese R&D, and through these expanding its domestic IPR portfolio. There a many opportunities here for Finnish expertise if the appropriate solutions can be localised and implemented in collaboration with Chinese partners.
Finpro’s market analysis (in Finnish) focuses on general economic indicators, growth forecasts for mobile technology and the systematic construction of China’s innovation environment.
