Fire Doors Group
Purpose
The Fire Door Manufacturers’ Group is the cooperation organ for Federation member companies active in the field, and it has the goal of promoting the operations of its members, furthering the interests of the Finnish fire door industry and improving cooperation between the members.
Activities
The group consists of 8 members. Key areas for the group are monitoring and influencing the extensive standardisation work ongoing in the field of fire fighting, common testing in the Fire Technology Laboratory of the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and common type approval projects aimed at achieving technological harmonisation for improving the quality of products and services for higher environmental-friendliness and safety.
The Group provides a forum for the exchange of information and experiences for problems occurring in the field. In close cooperation with other fire-safety product manufactures, VTT, the Ministry of Environment and the Federation of Finnish Insurance Companies, the group aims to promote the overall development of the field. Through maintaining active contacts between member companies and interest groups it monitors the progress of new EU directives even at the national level.
