Association of Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries (AFDA)
The Association of Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries (AFDA) is a non-profit organisation financed by yearly contributions from its members. The AFDA was established in 1994 as a Branch Association of The Federation of Finnish Technology Industries. The AFDA has about 90 members covering the defence, aviation, space and security industries in Finland.
The AFDA collectively takes action in the name of its members and other national trade organisations when matters of mutual interest in the defence industry need to be addressed. The opinions, interests and potential of its members are communicated to the Finnish government, politicians and media. The AFDA is in regular contact with the armed forces and the Ministry of Defence.
To fulfil the aims of the Association there nine separate sub-groups have been established:

* Communications Group
* Army Group
* Navy Group
* Aviation Group
* Space Group
* Security Technology Group (of) Finland, STGF
These working groups are chaired by experts from the member companies and they are coordinated by the AFDA.
The Association represents Finland in ASD (AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) and in EUROSPACE (The Association of European Space Industry). The Association also serves as an intermediary in contacts with NIAG (NATO Industrial Advisory Group).
